Phoenix G2 Communications Gateway
Serves as an interface between the CAD host and the station alerting system
Key Features
- Connects with new or existing voice and data systems
- Dispatches units over agency radio
- Voice-to-text alerts
- Smartphone, text, email and paging alerts

The G2 Communications Gateway is the core of USDD’s Fire Station Alerting System. Located at the dispatch processing center, it is the direct link between the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system and the G2 ATX Station Controller located at each fire station.
The Communication Gateway’s design is efficient in every way. It provides simple network requirements and software updates to the “trainable” self-service pronunciation editor integrated into our G2 VoiceAlert software.
Using dynamic, flexible pathway options, the Gateway has two redundant servers for disaster recovery and backup.
The Gateway receives alert data from a dispatcher via an interface with an existing CAD host, or directly from USDD’s interactive Web-based Communications Gateway Dashboard. See a visual overview →

G2 Communications Gateway Benefits
Optimizes a community’s investment by interfacing with new or existing voice and data systems.
Uses customer’s existing redundant alerting paths, as needed, which can keep the system running during communication failures.
Eases IT support tasks by simplifying remote or local configuration via a Web browser.
Keeps personnel advised of ongoing incidents through phone, text, email and paging alerts.
Dispatches units automatically over the agency’s radio system— without additional dispatcher actions—using clear, automated text-to-speech VoiceAlert software.
Monitors the health of every ATX Station Controller and G2 peripheral device within the department’s network, and reports communication failures to dispatch and support personnel via audible and visual alarms, per NFPA 1221 monitoring requirements.
Alerts stations as well as reserve or volunteer personnel with two-tone or DTMF pages that precede the dispatch announcement.

Provides dispatchers with manual alerting, alert monitoring, radio announcement control and station alarm reporting, helping departments maintain NFPA 1221 requirements.

- TriTech (Inform/VisiCAD, Perform/Vision/VisionAir, Tiburon CommandCAD)
- Hexagon/Intergraph (Edge Frontier/InterCAD)
- Motorola (Premier, PremierOne, Spillman, Printrak)
- Northrop Grumman (COBOL CAD, CommandPoint)
- Versaterm
- Capita/Fortek
We continuously develop other custom CAD interfaces, including the UK GD-92 standard.
