It’s been said that there’s no such thing as bad press and we couldn’t agree more! Ever since Minnesota’s Ramsey County announced that it was implementing US Digital Design’s Phoenix G2 fire station alerting system, regional media couldn’t say enough good things about the new technology!
By automatically transmitting emergency alert data from Ramsey County’s public-safety answering point to multiple stations simultaneously — in less than a second in most cases — this cutting-edge system provides their fire departments with a dramatically improved alerting interface and, more importantly, a much quicker turnaround when it comes to emergency calls.
KARE, one of the Twin Cities’ most watched evening news programs, noted that, USDD’s VoiceAlert software digitizes calls and helps improves response times. See the video.
The Star Tribune, Minnesota’s largest daily newspaper with a circulation of more than 300,000 readers, praised Ramsey County’s proactive decision to implement the Phoenix G2 fire station alerting system and new computer-aided dispatch system. They proclaimed:“The real-time feature is perhaps the most significant improvement in a new computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system recently launched in Ramsey County. The advanced system, which went live Tuesday morning (March 24), is designed to improve emergency response times.”
“It definitely has the potential for shortening response times,” Scott Williams, Director of Ramsey County’s emergency communications, told EMS World of the new technology and accompanying change to the county’s fire-station alerting system.
